- an old family letter from France
- part of a baby blanket that belonged to them (two of the squares on the left side of the painting are the painted bits of baby blanket)
- something important about where they lived (in this case, I added their metro station – on the right side of the painting is the Virginia Square Metro)
Most of the time I add more elements when personalizing a painting, but these were all that were requested.
Their color scheme was cream, blush and celadon (céladon), which is a pale green with a touch of gray. Her house was filled with these colors, so I added a complementary blue to help the painting blend but stand out.
